FRANCK BOUTNNET
France

Franck has been a documentary photographer for more than 20 years.

He divides his time between his family, personal long-term projects, wedding photo-reportages, conferences and workshops all over the world. All this fills him deeply, passionately…

He discovered photography when he was living in San Diego, California. Back then, he was teaching French classes at UCSD, and he had the opportunity to attend photojournalism classes. For Franck it was love at first sight for this discipline that gathered most of his centers of interest: visual arts, geopolitics, social issues, traveling, meeting people, multiculturalism…

Back in France, he decided to devote himself solely and entirely to photography. He quickly met the right people who allowed him to start a new professional life and he co-created a photojournalists agency in 2001.

Very quickly he also started practicing by taking his friends wedding photos. But from the start he used to shoot weddings as documentary subjects, and enjoyed more and more this new photographic practice.

For the last12 years, as a wedding photographer his work has regularly been awarded and recognized at an international level with 350 awards. In 2009, he was named WPJA Photographer of the Year 2008, and since then he has regurlaly been ranked in the top 10 of most of these organizations (WPJA, Fearless, ISPWP, Inspiration Awards, WPS). This recognition allowed him to be a keynote speaker in more than 30 international conferences.

In his photographic approach, he feels close to the tradition of humanist photography. For personal projects, he tries to tell a story with a highly personal vision, trying to put lyrical and poetic strength in his images.
